While Signed into a Team Rush account and playing solo, drivers become eligible to track down gold coins scattered around every race track. Some coins are placed in easy-to-find locations like the start and end of a shortcut. However, many more are hidden away in locations that will require drivers to search high and low. There are 100 coins per track in total, and every 25 coins collected on a track will unlock a new paint job for car 5 as well, allowing drivers to show off their coin hunting skills.
Properties
Coins will do the following when interacted with, or collected by the player:
- All coins sit (or float) in a static position, with a slow spin speed. The spin speed increases as the player approaches.
- Coins are collected once they are driven into. Doing so plays a knockback animation and increases the coin count in the top right of the HUD.
- Coins increase the amount of remaining time by 2 seconds per collected coin. Collecting large groups of coins allow drivers to play for extended periods of time.
- Coins unlock additional paintjobs for car 5, until all 100 have been collected.
- Coins will respawn on a track once all 100 have been collected, allowing drivers to collect them once again. Respawning will stop once 1,000 coins have been collecting.
Unobtainable Coins
When the game was in development, STV hid an unobtainable coin in each track as red herrings for players searching for coins. These coins are in the following locations: TODO
